Eastlakes Point Score System
At Eastlakes we take pride in all of our athlete’s achievements and acknowledging the personal growth of an individual is recognised to be as important as celebrating competitive success.
Our committee has reviewed the point score system for the 2024/2025 season and have introduced some changes for the purpose of determining the Age Champion Awards.
Our athletes rotate through the events available for their respective age groups over the season. They are awarded points (at club meets only) based on criteria listed below and these points are then used to calculate the winners of our Age Champions at the end of the season:
· Attendance at Saturday morning club meet – 1 point per club meet
· Participation (reasonable attempt made to participate) in an event – 1 point per event
· Placing in an event:
o 1st place – 3 points
o 2nd place – 2 points
o 3rd place – 1 point
· Personal best in an event - 3 points (previously only 1 point awarded)
· Setting a new club record – 3 points (previously 5 points awarded)
Eastlakes also recognises that some athletes may wish to compete at external athletics competitions, which may prevent them from participating (and earning points) at an Eastlakes Saturday morning club meet. Where evidence of participation at an external meet is provided to the Eastlakes committee, the athlete will be awarded the maximum attendance and participation points that they could have earned at club on that day. Attendance at any of the following events will be considered:
· LANSW or ANSW sanctioned event e.g. State relays, State combined, Treloar Shield etc
· School Sports Australia Athletics
· NSW All Schools Athletics
· Australian All Schools Athletics
· Representation in an athletics event at State level or higher.
