2026/27 Age Groups & Specifications
Athletes between the ages of 5 and beyond can register. Eastlakes also offer Tiny Tots, a modified athletics program for children as young as 3. Parents, grandparents and friends are also encouraged to get involved by helping with the various events.
Note the removal of โUnderโ for junior age groups
Based on community feedback, the double-barrelled age group names (e.g. โ13's (U14)โ) have been replaced with simplified terminology such as โ13s,โ โ14s,โ etc. This clearer naming better reflects the structure of our NSW competitions, particularly as the majority of athletes are competing only at a grassroots or club level.
While the naming conventions used in NSW do not currently align exactly with those used at the national level, all athletes, both in NSW and nationally, compete in age groups based on year of birth. This ensures consistency in athlete groupings regardless of terminology.
SPORTSMAGIC are the company that design and sell the Eastlakes club uniform and merchandise.
The Uniform consists of an Eastlakes branded top and black bottoms.
Each athlete will be required to wear an Eastlakes top each Saturday at club meets and when competing in any NSW athletics events. Each athlete is welcome to wear any black bottoms (brief/shorts/tights).
Each athlete is required to have their athletics NSW number, Coles patch and age group pinned to the correct area on their uniform. Further info on this can be found under the competition tab at the top of the page or by clicking here.

For any online order SPORTSMAGIC will deliver free to the club FOR THE FIRST MONTH. They will otherwise be onsite on October 3rd at Baxter Field and any pre-orders that are ready to go can be picked up on this date. You can also purchase from them direct on the day (limited stock) or put an order in.
Congratulations to the eastlakes athletes selected into the NSW athletics LEAP program.

LEAP is a new and exciting, invite only, athlete development program that is exclusive to a limited number of athletes in U12/U13(14) age groups. The aim of LEAP is to identify emerging athletes in each Little Athletics event and provide unique opportunities to assist in their athletics development and encourage further participation in the sport of Track and Field.
Well done kids, keep working hard and achieving your goals ๐ซ
๐๐EASTLAKES CULTURE CLUB๐๐
ATTENTION PARENTS and SENIOR ATHLETES.
Did you ever do little athletics as a kid ? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a go ? Have you ever been tempted to chuck a discus, or attempt a High Jump or run around the track with your little athlete ? Do you need some added motivation to get moving ?
WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU !!!!
This year we welcome a new initiative called the Eastlakes Culture Club.
What is Culture Club ?
A safe and friendly space for parents / seniors / masters athletes to get involved and have a go at Athletics. We are all about inclusion and ALL abilities are welcome.
With a eastlakes COMMUNITY membership ANY Parent or Masters athlete are welcome and are encouraged to compete alongside our opens group at each weekly Saturday club competition.
In addition to this, Eastlakes will also run a โCulture Club Dayโ once a month which is solely designed for our โculturedโ (masters ๐) athletes to have a go. This will run on a Saturday after club competition from approximately 11-1230 in a quieter environment and less ๐ watching which is perfect if the normal saturday opens competition just seems a little much for now.
A come and Try day will be offered, and participation there after will require a community membership (to cover council and insurance costs)
If you decide you would like to compete outside of club days, you can upgrade your membership to an OPEN membership which will allow you to compete at
๐ State Relays
๐ Country Champs
๐ NSW state masters
๐ AUS nationals masters
๐ Treloar shield
๐ Multi - events
๐ Summer Series
We look forward to supporting your efforts and cheering you on around the track and field, be it for fun and fitness or to push yourself and achieve your goals.

CRAIG BARNES
Congratulations to Craig โKing Craigโ who was not only a finalist for the NSW little athletics administrator of the year award but was the ever so deserving recipient of this award.
Craig wears many hats, not only has he served the club as president over the last few years, but he is also a registered athlete and a NSW official too. He has made substantial contributions not only at a grass roots level, but to lake Macquarie zone, region 2 and NSW athletics. He has innovative ideas and is an outstanding role model and such a great advocate not only for the sport but for our club.
His hard work and dedication have made a real difference to Eastlakes athletics club and he has set up a wonderful foundation for the club to keep building upon.
Congratulations Craig
